Our
major community events:
A
Pancake Breakfast every Palm Sunday that is a major fund-raiser,
and a great opportunity to join the Club's friends and families
while being served all the pancakes you can eat along with sausage,
orange juice, milk, or coffee.
A Civic Prayer Breakfast that brings
many in the community together to begin the day with prayer, usually
during early May, and many times on the National Day of Prayer.
While this is not meant to be a major fund-raiser, it is one of
our major community events.
A
Senior Barbecue where we serve around 200 or more community
seniors and patients from some of the nursing homes, usually during
the month of June.
A
Golf Tournament usually held at a nearby golf course during
one of the summer months, to bring together friends, family and
business associates to enjoy a day of golf while helping raise funds
for the various charities we support, (see link for Charities).
One
or more public Barbecues, usually held somewhere along St.
Charles Rock Road where we offer barbecued ribs, chicken, brats
or hamburgers and the trimmings. This is another of our major fund-raisers
and we invite everyone to attend. Usually held during the summer
months.
For
years, we have been an ardent supporter of Camp Wyman, a
summer camp for disadvantaged children. Some of our activities involve
the Community Helping Ministry, a lay organization that helps
those in need. We help fund their activities and also help with
their Food Drives. In recent years we have provided help
for Room at the Inn, a community-based program that provides
emergency shelter for women and their families.
We
also sponsor various youth activities, we have sponsored a Key
Club at Pattonville High School since 1982, a K-Kids and
Builders Club at Holy Spirit School and Bridgeway Elementary
School of the Pattonville School Syatem). Since 1983 we have provided
scholarships to deserving high school seniors, with the amounts
dependant on the success of our fund-raising activities.
